Learn how to train your lift truck operators for safe operation and meet OSHA requirements. Our one-day classroom course teaches candidate instructors how to develop and deliver complete in-house training programs, design exercises for staff evaluations, and instruct non-operators how to work safely around lift trucks. Take the course at an NSC training center, or we can train onsite at your location. What you'll learn •OSHA Powered Industrial Truck Standard 1910.178 and 1926.602 compliance •How to evaluate operators' performance •How to educate non-operators about working safely around powered industrial trucks •How to teach safe procedures and maintenance Course materials Easy-to-follow Facilitator Guide with companion DVD (plus PC/Mac CD-ROM version) that lets course leaders engage and involve participants through all seven instructional modules. About This Course:
This course provides an update for currently authorized OSHA General Industry Outreach Trainers on topics such as OSHA general industry standards, policies and regulations. General industry outreach trainers are required to attend this course once every four years to maintain trainer status.

During the course, students will work with a partner to develop a presentation and teach an assigned OSHA General Industry Outreach topic. Participants will be provided with a variety of training materials and resources.

Prerequisites:
Trainers must submit a copy of their current trainer card to OTIprerequisite@ncsu.edu at the time of registration.

Trainers have a 90-day grace period after their expiration to take the 503 update class. Beyond 90 days, trainers must re-take the OSHA #501 Trainer Course. Please note, during the 90-day grace period, instructors are no longer authorized to conduct 10-hour or 30-hour classes and will not be able to request student completion cards.

Recommended for:
Currently authorized OSHA General Industry Outreach Trainers who have previously completed the OSHA #501 or OSHA #503 and need to renew their trainer status.
