Meeting Federal Guidelines

Our flagger instructor and novice training offers comprehensive skill-building session that meets federal industry guidelines: the MUTCD guidelines and the ANSI standard ISEA-107-1999 (novice) ANSI standard ISEA-107-2010 (instructor). The Office of Highway Safety, the Federal Highway Administration, and several state Departments of Transportation have reviewed these programs.

First-Time Certifications

1-Day Instructor Development

Become an NSC Certified Flagger Instructor so you can certify your own crew on safe flagging techniques.

4-Hour Novice Training

This certification course is a requirement for novice construction work zone flaggers.

Instructor Renewal Application—GA & SC

Flagger Instructor Certification renewal is due every 2 years to maintain an active certification. Simply complete your application to maintain your active status.

Please note: Georgia Flagger Instructors are no longer required to complete an in-person recertification course or monitoring.
