The National Safety Council is proud to offer a brand-new version of our Professional Rescuer CPR course. BLS Healthcare and Professional Rescuers is ideal for EMS professionals, firefighters, police, paramedics, life guards, athletic trainers and medical assistants. The course highlights immediate life-threatening situations, demonstrates how to respond to them quickly and effectively, and offers some perspective about how often these situations occur. Relevant end-of-chapter scenarios help students prioritize threats and learn how to deal with the unexpected. Content includes:

• The role of the professional rescuer in emergencies
• How to prevent transmission of infectious disease
• Assessing the victims' condition
• Basic life support, including rescue breathing, cardiac emergencies and CPR,
• airway obstruction, and AED
• Special resuscitation situations and advanced resuscitation

BLS Healthcare and Professional Rescuers meets federal guidelines from the CDC, OSHA, and NFPA.
